The Way of the Cross: Ninth Station

Deus, in adjutorium meum intende. Domine, ad adjuvandum me festina.
O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me.

This Station was meant to be published a few days ago.  I was interrupted and thought I had saved it. I guess I didn't, since it has disappeared. Then family has come to visit from out of state, and I didn't get back to it.  I have a little time, so -

The things I have been reading are so disturbing, especially the corruption of our youth.  I thought of Our Lord's statement that better a millstone be put around the neck of those who scandalize them, and that they be cast into the sea.  The blasphemy against Christ and the Blessed Mother are horrendous.  Now a school with youngsters from 7-12th grades  is putting on a play with Mary as a lesbian, and the creation of Adam and Steve.  Parents spend thousands to send their young people to the "best" colleges and universities. What do they get? Sex weekends where anything goes, at Harvard for one.  Yale is sponsoring a workshop in "sensitivity training" which considers topics such as bestiality, incest, accepting money for sex. It is titled "Sex: Am I Normal." Students are told not to judge and to have compassion and understanding. "Just because people think something is deviant does not mean that it is bad." Really?

The Station on the Via Crucis (Way of the Cross) which has Our Lord falling for the third time, made me think that the already crushing weight of the cross is made most unbearable with the sins of the flesh, which are responsible for more souls in Hell than any other sin, we are told. The fact that our young people are being led into the worst of sins, which Christ saw in His agony, as he saw all the sins of the world, must have broken His loving heart.

The Ninth Station: Jesus Falls the Third Time

We adore Thee, O Christ, and we praise Thee,
Because by Thy holy cross Thou hast redeemed the world.

Consider the third fall of Jesus Christ. His weakness was extreme, and the cruelty of His executioners excessive, who tried to hasten His steps when he had scarcely strength to move.

Ah, my outraged Jesus, by the merits of the weakness that Thou didst suffer in going to Calvary, give me strength sufficient to conquer all human respect and all my wicked passions, which have led me to despise Thy friendship. I love Thee, Jesus, my love, with my whole heart; I repent of ever having offended Thee. Never permit me to offend Thee again. Grant that I may love Thee always, and then do with me what Thou wilt.

                                                    Our Father....Hail Mary....Glory Be....

Lord Jesus, crucified,
Have mercy on us!

O thou Mother! fount of love,
                                                    Touch my spirit from above.
Make my heart with thine accord.
