I can't believe the things I read and hear any more. What has happened to us, to our country, to the world. I'm just going to put down here several items I've seen on news websites, facebook, and what has come through my email. They make me shake my head in disbelief.

Since October 2011 mosques have been off-limits to FBI agents. There is no more surveillance or sting operations without high level approval from a special oversight committee of the Justice Department. Many of the mosques are indoctrination centers; but, while Tea Party organizations may be infiltrated and spied upon, mosques may not.
I just this minute had a call from a friend in Northern California. She reminded me that the local paper had a front page feature on Mother's Day of a lesbian couple and "their" children. Today, Father's Day, the same paper featured a gay couple, one of whom was referred to as his wife, and "their" children. Normalization seems to be the object.
A high school principal censored the speech of the valedictorian by cutting off his microphone. He mentioned Jesus and the Constitution. The principal threatened to give the graduate a bad recommendation to the Naval Academy.
Maxine Waters in February 2012 said that Barak Obama holds a database "no one has ever seen before in life", that has "information about everything on every individual in ways it's never been done before." Remember her gaff when she said "we want to nationalize (oil). We want to take over your business." Then she quickly tried to change it to government control, which is the same thing.
Armed IRS agents seized 60million medical records from insurance companies. They said they had warrants but did not show them. Armed? Armed federal agents have been terrorizing businesses such as Gibson Guitar, which had its materials seized forcibly and its business curtailed. It was said the wood was illegally brought into the country. However, another business importing the same wood, which was an Obama supporter, was not touched.
President Obama objects to the religious liberty amendment to protect military service members, including chaplains, whose "actions and speech" reflect morals, conscience and religion, ecause such things would have a "significant adverse effect on good order, discipline morale and mission accomplishment."
In Dearborn, Michigan, CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) demands that schools accommodate muslim prayers, yet attacks voluntary Bible lessons. A Detroit school district apologized for handing out permission slips for Bible study class to elementary school students. A public school has implemented a policy for muslims which fully accommodates student-led prayer in all the schools, as well as unexcused absences for students who leave early on Fridays for Jumu'ah prayers. CAIR is trying the same in other districts. Will Catholics be able to get off for Holy Days? Will Jewish children get off for High Holy Days? Sure.
The Department of Justice warns not to use "inflammatory" speech against muslims on social media, calling it a violation of civil rights. "Muslims and Arab Americans have helped build and strengthen our nation," says Eric Holder. Such speech may be liable for a jail sentence.
The Department of Homeland Security flags tweets about militias but not about jihad. The DHS and FBI have Operation Vigilant Eagle, watching returning veterans for possible terrorism suspects if they speak against the Obama administration. In 2009 it was decided to target militia and sovereign citizen "extremist" groups. Michigan has a law now that adds a veteran designation to drivers licenses and state IDs.
Our military's rules of engagement state that a soldier can not fire on an enemy behind a rock, for instance, who is firing at him until he can verify that the enemy has not put his gun down.
The money an employer puts in for employment insurance will now be considered a "benefit" of employment and the employee will be taxed on it starting this year, 2013.
The European Union may bar books portraying traditional families, or "gender stereotyping." It might damage women's career opportunities.
The Obama administration is training homosexual activists around the world at a cost of $11,000,000 under the U.S. Agency for International Development. The training focuses on countries with strong Catholic influence like Ecuador, Honduras, Guatemala and other countries that oppose gay marriage, etc. The first sessions were in Colombia which has rejected same sex marriage.

A little light in the darkness here in Texas:
Governor Perry signed a law permitting public schools to have nativity scenes, menorahs and Christmas trees. The children may say Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, etc.
The Republicans passed a measure requiring drug testing for certain unemployment benefits.
Another law was passed to train teachers to be armed marshals.
A bill has gone to the Governor to reduce STAAR tests from 15 to 5. It created more flexibility for students but does not reduce the rigor in high school. It also puts more focus on career/business courses as well as college prep. There are high schools that have strong courses in blue collar skills and agriculture.

Since Memorial Day American flags have lined Main Street?/Highway 69 from old town Lindale, where we are, for the five miles to the 20 Freeway. There are flags down the street leading to our place, 8 in front of the Library, as many in front of the Baptist Church. Five, Six, Ten flags line the streets in front of businesses all along the main drag. They stayed up for D-Day, Veterans' Day and Flag Day. They might come down and be put back up for July 4, or they may just stay up. Business windows have window paint with In God We Trust or God Bless America. Flashing business signs that change their messages by the minute flash the same words - in front of the feed store, an insurance company, drug store, auto dealer, laundromat. Window paint on back car and truck windows show the same.
