While I was still living in California Proposition 8, defending marriage between a man and a woman was to be voted on. I saw first hand what the homosexual lobby was about. When the proposition passed, people's names were made public who had supported it, businesses and homes were targeted in many ways, including threats, slams against the businesses, etc. I wrote something for the newspaper at the time, which I will partially repeat here with some updates. The hate that burned through several subsequent comments was palpable. And now the Federal Defense of Marriage Act is under attack.
Heterosexuals who deem homosexuality a disorder are universally misidentified as homophobic. Rather than a phobia (fear), it is homo-antipathy, if you will. It is gross generalization to accuse heterosexuals of hate speech or thought against gays. People find the lifestyle ill-considered at the least and against the laws of God and nature in the end.
In fraternal charity, many pray for the souls of gays. In that regard, almost daily hate speech and action, often venomous and threatening, are aimed at religious beliefs, standard norms of morality and behavior, and general understanding of eternal truths.
Such speech and action aim to silence objections and to deny freedom of speech to those who do not surrender and acquiesce. No matter what light one shines on it, homosexuality is unnatural and antithetical to what, by reason alone, human beings recognize as the natural state of sexuality, male and female.
Genetic homosexuality is not a scientific certainty. If genetic, it is a disability. It long was recognized as a psychological disorder, caused by a brain abnormality, trauma or environment. Recent studies in psychology have resurrected the diagnosis. Those afflicted are called to resist the tendency, which defies natural law. Many homosexuals have been cured or live chaste lives, despite the homosexual lobby's denials and efforts to halt any treatment.
Decades ago, homosexuals merely asked for tolerance and to keep others' opinions and judgment out of their bedrooms. In fairness, most gays are in that category; and I have known some of them. But due to vocal, powerful activists the tolerance evolved into demands for rights, the rights escalated to promotion, promotion to total acceptance and now blatant intimidation if the heterosexual population objects.
Activists once denied that they seek to indoctrinate children. Explain NAMBLA. Explain the presence of high school clubs that admittedly exist to "advocate alternative lifestyles," denying parents their authority to object. In California (and around the U.S.) textbooks are being revised to view homosexual people of accomplishment through the prism of their sexual orientation, as if their lifestyle is/was the cause of their achievements. This is forced acceptance, not tolerance. We have already seen the books for the youngest children that promote the "normalcy" of two daddies or two mommies. Object to any of this and you are branded a bigot. Harvey Milk is held up to be a hero, someone who deserves a holiday in his name, when he was indeed a predator.
If homosexuality is genetic, discontinue programs meant to convince children that they are homosexual at ages of normal confusion and transition, in the early teens. Parents have been forbidden to remove their children from the classroom during pro-homosexual discussions just to the north, in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Promulgators swear that our freedoms are secure even as they openly take them away, aided by complicit lawyers and judges. A photographer lost the freedom to choose clients and faced lawsuits for refusing to photograph a homosexual union. Boy Scouts lost their freedom of association while adhering to their moral standards. People who hold firm religious beliefs are derided and condemned.
These are the ones who encounter hate. If a clergyman will refuse to witness a homosexual union or preaches agasint homosexuality, he will be sued. God is mocked and His laws ignored with impunity. Meanwhile our leaders, politically correct panderers, put dollars above virtue.
There are approximately 304 million, 394 thousand people in the U.S. Kinsey's myth of a 10 percent homosexual population in the country has been debunked, along with so much of his "research." The man has now been shown to be a perverted individual. A coalition of 31 homosexual advocacy groups, including Human Rights Campaign, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and the Gay and Lesbian Alliance have admitted that the entire homosexual (including bisexual) population is about 2.1 percent of the total population. Even if it were 5 percent, that still is only about one and a half million in the U.S. These percentages are verifiable - worldwide. How has such a small percentage become so powerful as to disrupt and dominate mainstream American culture?
As long ago as 1972 the National Coalition of Gay Organizations demanded the repeal of all legislative restrictions on gender or number of persons entering into a marriage, and for legal benefits to all persons who cohabit regardless of sex or numbers. Group marriage meant any combination of genders. Recognize homosexual marriage as a legal norm and this could be the eventual outcome. Sodomy and bestiality, first by the Senate Armed Services Committee on November 15, 2011, then by the Senate in December, 2011, besides rescinding Don't Ask Don't Tell in the military, has approved sodomy and bestialiy in the armed forces. There is a lobby now for the legalization of pedophilia. Where does it end?
The door is opened when courts not merely redefine, but throw out the Judeo-Christian biblical model of marriage. The reality of polyandry, polygamy and polyamory is indeed possible at some point. Not only marriage, but every traditional moral, religious and political value system faces alarming challenges.
Abortion and euthanasia are evil twins in a culture of death. The inalienable rights to life and liberty under God are attacked and defenders are shouted down, attacked, or ignored. Only the pursuit of happiness, in the guise of pleasure and license, bread and circuses, will remain.The United States of America becomes the Roman Empire Redux. We have a president and administration who actively are promoting "gay" rights around the world, and, truth to tell, support abortion, and, through Obamacare, will lower the aged population by legal, medical means.
"Vengeance is Mine," saith the Lord. And I fear that His anger is mighty.
